With over 190 stores across Mumbai and Pune and having served more than 30 lakh customers, Zeno Health, one of India’s leading omnichannel pharmacy networks, has now launched its pan-India e-commerce platform to deliver affordable, trusted medicines directly to homes across 23,000 pin codes.

In a recent conversation with Financial Express Retail, Girish Agarwal, Co-founder & CEO of Zeno Health, spoke about how this milestone marks a natural evolution of the company’s eight-year journey.

“Our mission from day one has been simple — to make healthcare accessible and affordable for every Indian,” Girish said. “Medicines are often the biggest out-of-pocket healthcare expense, yet few consumers benefit from the lower prices that generic alternatives can offer. We decided to flip the narrative — educating consumers and enabling them to save 60–65% on their prescriptions, without compromising on quality.”

Until now, Zeno Health’s offline network was the foundation of this mission. However, Girish acknowledged the limitations of expanding only through physical stores:

“Offline expansion has its own pace and reach. But with the internet and India’s logistics ecosystem maturing over the past decade, we saw an opportunity to reach people much faster, even in places where pharmacies are scarce. That’s why we chose to complement our offline growth with this e-commerce play.”

To support the e-commerce operations, Zeno Health has already set up two large fulfillment centers — one in the East and one in the West — stocking 35,000–40,000 SKUs and powered by delivery partners like Delhivery and Blue Dart for the last mile. Plans are underway to expand this backbone to 10 fulfillment centers across India, strategically located near sourcing hubs to ensure consistent availability.

Importantly, Zeno Health has chosen to operate as a full-stack e-pharmacy, owning its inventory and fulfillment process end-to-end rather than aggregating third-party pharmacies. This ensures tighter control over quality, compliance, and customer experience.

“We want to establish our presence quickly and credibly in the minds of users across India,” Girish explained. “We’re not just about selling medicines online — we’re about enabling people to access affordable, high-quality alternatives, even in the remotest parts of the country. That’s why our app and platform are optimized to help users confidently choose and save on generic medicines.”

On the regulatory front, Girish reassured that Zeno Health’s e-commerce operations adhere to established practices and licensing requirements, with workflows designed to incorporate any future updates to e-pharmacy regulations once finalized.

For Zeno Health, this step is more than just scaling up — it’s about staying true to its mission.

“We’ve been able to make a difference to millions in Mumbai and Pune through our stores,” Girish concluded. “But affordable healthcare shouldn’t stop there. Through our pan-India e-commerce platform, even someone in a remote village can access the same trusted, affordable medicines without waiting for us to open a store nearby. That’s the vision we’re working towards.”
